The Prospector is an annual student-run publication featuring written academic work by students that speak on art and literature across cultures. Its name comes from Prospect House — the affectionate, verdant home of Brown University’s Comparative Literature department. The Prospector is managed with care by the members of the Comparative Literature DUG.
We welcome critical or analytical papers, translations, and other works that take comparative and/or interdisciplinary approaches to their subject matter — including but not limited to writing produced for any COLT or COLT-adjacent courses offered at Brown. These perspectives reflect the intersectional nature of Comparative Literature at Brown. Submissions may range from 5-15 pages double-spaced, but this cutoff is malleable! For queries, please reach out to comp_lit@brown.edu.
