Pembroke Center awards Dima Nasser interdisciplinary opportunities fellowship

Brown offers Interdisciplinary Opportunities Fellowships to advanced doctoral students in humanities and social sciences, allowing them to actively participate in projects within the various interdisciplinary centers and institutes at Brown.

Dima NasserIn the 2023-2024 academic year, Comp Lit PhD student, Dima Nasser, was the recipient of an Interdisciplinary Opportunities Fellowship at the Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women. These fellowships, offered by numerous centers and institutes across Brown, are designed to “embed students in a community of scholars, with professional development and research opportunities, in order to support students as they complete their degrees and launch their careers.”

Dima had the opportunity to be a part of the “De-Colonial Retro-Speculation” seminar as well as act as Teaching Fellow for Introduction to Gender and Sexuality Studies with Wendy Lee, Associate Director of the Pembroke Center. She was actually the double recipient of a second Interdisciplinary Opportunities Fellowship with the Joukowsky Institute but opted to spend the year at the Pembroke Center instead.
